It seems that if you have DSR (Dynamic Super Resolutions) enabled in the NVIDIA control panel (I don't know if AMD uses this feature as well) and the game selects one of those resolutions by default (or if you switch to one) the graphics will be garbled or the game will crash.ĮDIT: I didn't realize editing my post would also bump it to the top. I know you said you tried changing video modes, I'm just reporting that this solution worked for me. Playing with it on Bnet is plain risky imo. The multires has been mentioned before though and you can probably play with it, but only on SP and not able to trade with other people from here on SP. Third, when I tried using this I had the same problem (the crash after loading a character) but changing the video mode to DirectDraw fixed this. Second, make sure you don't have -3dfx or -d3d added to your shortcut target.
